About Kolon

Kolon Industries produces specialty chemicals, hydrocarbon tackifier resins in particular. They have been doing so since 1957. Kolon Industries’ products are used in a wide range of applications: adhesives, sealants, rubber compounding and coatings.

Hydrocarbon resins by Kolon

The uses of hydrocarbon resins by Kolon can be found in aspects of daily life. These resins are used from paint for road marking, tapes used in office, printer ink and other applications. These resins are sold under the trademarks of SUKOREZ, HIKOREZ and HIKOTACK.

Sukorez

The Sukorez products are hydrogenated hydrocarbon tackifier resins. They are used in the formulation of hot melt adhesives, hot melt pressure sensitive adhesives, acrylic sensitive adhesives. Other applications are wax compounding sealants and polymer modification.

Hikorez

Hikorez resins provide good compatibility with elastomers and excellent solubility in a variety of organic solvents. Hikorez is used in hot melt adhesives, hot melt road marking or as an additive in asphalt. Other applications are tapes, rubber compounding and wax compounding.

Hikotack

The Hikotack products are manufactured with softening points varying between 90℃ and 160℃; this depends on customer’s specifications. Applications of Hikotack include hot melt-based adhesives, solvent based adhesives, flooring adhesives, rubber compounding, modified epoxy paint, concrete curing and more.

Hirenol

Hirenol Epoxy modifiers can be used in many different applications such as non-volatile viscosity reduction, brittleness reduction and Shore Hardness through flexibilization. Hirenon PL has, among other things, a lower viscosity than other styrene phenol versions, has better properties in water contact applications and is less crystallizing at room temperature, to name some of the advantages of Hirenol PL.
