This is how we prepare for the UFI-codes

The extended regulations of the Classification Labelling Packaging (CLP) will enter into force within the European Union, namely the UFI code, from 1 January 2021. This code stands for Unique Formula Identifier and ensures that information about CLP classified mixtures reaches the poison centers of the country concerned. It is important to note that without this UFI code the products may NOT be sold, traded or processed.

How does De Monchy International contribute?

For 165 years we, as a Rotterdam trading company, guarantee quality. In order to maintain quality and to guarantee the success of our customers, De Monchy is currently active in retrieving UFI information from our suppliers. De Monchy's suppliers are responsible for providing the correct UFI code or, in the absence of a UFI code, a detailed composition of the product. As the main purpose of UFI codes is to ensure health and safety, this information will be provided to the poison center of the importing country.

Why is it important?

It is therefore very important that raw material is labeled and registered with the correct UFI code, which contains information about the classified mixtures. The registration will clarify within the European Union the possible risks of incorrect contact (skin or eye contact, ingestion or inhalation) by the user.

We stand for quality!

Until 1 November our quality specialists will collect all necessary UFI codes and/or information that should lead to a UFI code. This gives De Monchy the time from 1 November to deliver the products without extraordinary risk as from 1 January 2021 in accordance with the European legislation.
