The world we live in today is moving away from traditions and shifting towards innovation and globalisation. In this process, the relationship between Europe and Asia is becoming increasingly more important. For certain companies, this can be seen as a threat, but it can also bring many benefits.

China’s interest in Europe

After opening up to the rest of the world, China has gone through a major ecnomomic development. Now that China’s market is slowly stabilizing, the Chinese are looking for new trade routes, which mainly focus on export. China is well on its way to investing in new technologies and reaching new markets, which includes Europe. This will continue to develop even further in the future. Many companies view this expansion as threatful. However, it also brings many advantages. Three of these benefits are presented below:

1. High Quality at a Lower Price

In order to maintain profit, companies have to continuously work hard. Therefore, the price-performance ratios of Asian manufacturers are interesting. Especially when applied to final products, such as coatings and adhesives. European companies can purchase products and raw materials from Asian companies at a lower cost, retaining high quality. As a direct result, profit will increase.

2. Long-Term Partnerships Based on Loyalty

The economic shift can be seen as a perfect opportunity to enter into new partnerships. The current trade war between China and the United States is a strong reason for Chinese companies to shift their focus to Europe. European distribution companies have the advantage that in when growth is achieved, Chinese manufacturers grand their geographical clients protection. This allows the distribution industry to build long-term partnerships that are based on loyalty.

3. Excellent Service for Partners and Customers

It is China’s ambition to keep growing, which can have a positive outcome on partnerships with European companies. Chinese manufacturers are known for a work delivirance that is swift and of high quality. It is their aim to provide their partners and clients with excellent service.
