Renewable carbon with Jayant

In previous blogs we explained the renewable carbon solution to the carbon emission challenge. Great to see is that our partner Jayant Agro Group has always focused on creating a sustainable future which now includes the renewable carbon initiative.

Biobased products

Jayant’s biobased products are used as intermediates and applied in many different industries, such as lubrication, coatings, inks, adhesives, soaps, polyurethane foams – rigid, flexible, coatings, floorings, polyamides, food additives, agriculture, personal care, electrical insulation and pharmaceuticals.

Interesting to see is the contribution of Jayant towards the renewable carbon initiative. They are currently investing in R&D activities to produce even more safer chemicals. Besides, Jayant is focussing on reducing waste and ensuring a maximum use of their materials. For example, even the ash generated in their heaters/boilers during combustion of seed residue is used as a fertiliser as it contains essential plant fertilising elements such as potassium and phosphorous.

Renewable energy

Jayant is not using any fossil fuels in their factories for heating and part of their electricity requirement is met through agro-based materials. For example, the fuel used for these boilers is from the agro-based material to generate steam and which is then used for the turbines whereby generating electricity.  Also, part of the electrical energy is supplied from Jayant’s wind turbines. They also have processes in place that enable Jayant to reuse the water and the water released is suitably treated to meet all permitted norms of the effluent.
