Traditional lubricants harmful to the environment

In the transportation and industrial sectors, the world relies heavily on petroleum-based products. These products would end up in the environment in certain cases, causing severe environmental pollution and hazards.

The biggest form of pollution

Over the past years, petroleum-based fluids have become one of the biggest forms of pollution globally. For example, the pollution of lubricants can have a devastating effect on water's environment as it ends up in rivers, streams and groundwater. A thin layer will spread over the surface, stopping oxygen from getting to species and plants that live in the water. Just one litre of oil can contaminate one million litres of water, which means that the lubricants are a toxic threat to all plants and animals' habitats.

Lubricant usage and disposal

The concern regarding the environmental impact and associated costs of lost petroleum-based fluids is rapidly growing. Compared to liquid lubricants' problem, usage and disposal of lubricating grease are also more complicated since the collection of used oil is very labour-intensive and unfeasible.

Demand sustainable lubricants increases

The impact that lubricants have on the environment is devastating. This causes a clear trend in the increasing demand for more sustainable alternatives, such as bio-lubricants, from a company's and individual perspective to make the world a better and healthier place.
